Investors exchanged 4,089,521 shares of Intel, which was down $0.90, or 4.03%. Intel reported its third-quarter financial results yesterday. Its net income fell by 14% from $3.47 billion, or $0.65 per share, in the prior-year quarter to $2.97 billion, or $0.58 per share. Revenue fell 5.5% to $13.5 billion. Intel projects its fourth-quarter revenue will be $13.6 billion, which is below analysts' forecast of $13.7 billion.
Investors traded 1,682,946 shares of ASML Holding, which was down $1.09, or 2.03%. ASML has afforded to buy Cymer (NASDAQ:CYMI) for around $2.55 billion in cash and shares.
