Most types of watercraft are eligible for coverage either by endorsement to your homeowners policy or by writing a special policy. Either option provides broad coverage for damage to the watercraft as well as liability and medical payments coverage. Depending on the contract and coverages selected, you can purchase coverage for outboard motors, on-board equipment, trailers and personal property. In some states, you can also purchase coverage for accidents caused by uninsured boaters.
